Chalgrove Community Primary School

Set in beautiful countryside in rural Oxfordshire, Chalgrove Community Primary School prides itself on being at the heart of our village.

The school was originally opened in 1877 and has naturally evolved around the growing needs of the community. There are three main buildings, including a purpose-built Foundation Unit.

There is a large sports hall offering excellent facilities during the school day and also for after school clubs, and a large playing field for outdoor sports and activities.

We have recently established a nature reserve called 'Frogmore' on an area of land adjacent to the playing field where the children (and often parents) are working on a variety of environmental projects to monitor and observe the local wildlife.

During their time at Chalgrove children experience a learning environment where they are able to develop as individuals, gaining confidence and independence to become flexible and creative learners.

The school was graded 'Good' in all areas at the last Ofsted inspection in July 2012. Staff and parents continue to work closely together providing a strong leadership team and support network for a community school we are all proud of.

Students that attend Chalgrove Community Primary School usually move onto one of these local secondary schools:

Icknield Community College, based in Watlington

Wheatley Park School, based in Wheatley
