Chalgrove Village Festival

The Chalgrove Festival is the largest free event in the village. It takes place every year on the first Bank Holiday in May on Chalgrove Recreation Ground. The Festival is managed by a team of volunteers who manage everything from booking the stalls to managing the event on the day. We are always looking for people who are willing to help with the Festival, so if you have time to help on the day, or would be able to spare the time to work with the committee, please contact the Chairman of the Festival Committee, Jackie Budd, via email on or by phone on 01865 891402 - More information and contacts available on our Facebook page

It’s almost time for the 2017 Chalgrove Village Festival and your Festival needs you! This year's theme will be Village Life, celebrating living in a wonderful part of South Oxfordshire. There will be many events alongside the ever popular Chalgrove 10k.

The Festival will feature displays of Dog Agility and Working Dogs/Birds/Ferrets, plus a chance to put your pooch through their paces in the Fun Dog Show. We will also have: Wayne Wonder with Magic and Balloon Modelling - Thatching Demonstrations - Classic Car Show - Funfair - Wheatley Birds of Prey - BIG raffle - Beer & Cider Tent - Food Court (with many new stalls!) - Local Village stalls showcasing local clubs, societies and groups - Teas & Cakes - Static Steam Engines – Live Music and much, much more!

Chalgrove Primary School will also be involved in the Festival theme; dressing up, making decorations, and singing and dancing. Chalgrove Village Festival opens at 11:00 on Monday May 1st 2017

Want to be involved? We’re looking for groups in the village that might want a stall to display their wares, tell us about what you do, or are looking for new members. Contact Sharon via email at

We’re also looking for volunteers who can help on the day, with setting up, clearing up, and all the other jobs that need doing to make the day run smoothly. Want to help? Contact Paul via email at
